Export and Installation
Download your BeamNG.drive map, install it as a mod and review it in Free Roam.

Prepare to export
Review the Editor checklist and mark any intentionally unused steps yourself. Keep the route, buildings and gameplay areas inside the playable area. Wait for saving to finish before leaving the Editor.
Terrain, vectors and imagery must be imported. If you assigned team models, wait until they are Ready. Resolve any missing collection or unsupported-model errors before retrying export.
Download the export
Return to the project page, choose Export and select BeamNG.drive. Choose a size that fits inside the playable area, then start the export.
Follow its progress on the export page. When it completes, download the ZIP. Open README.md at the top of the archive for installation, replacement and troubleshooting instructions. Older exports keep their README inside the map folder under levels. If the export fails, open the error details, correct the named issue and start a new export. Your saved project remains available.
Install in BeamNG.drive
Close the game. Open the BeamNG.drive launcher, choose Manage User Folder, then Open in Explorer. Copy the downloaded ZIP into that active user folder’s mods folder without extracting it; create mods if it is missing. See BeamNG’s manual mod installation guide if you need help locating the folder.
Start the game, check that the mod is enabled, and find your project’s map in Free Roam. Use a current BeamNG.drive installation so the stock scenery used by the map is available.
When replacing an earlier export of the same project, close the game and replace the old ZIP. Keep only one version enabled. If you previously edited that level in World Editor, preserve your edits before replacing or removing them; they can override the downloaded map.
Drive through the map
Start with one vehicle and inspect the map in daylight. Test the whole route, including both directions through junctions and transitions onto bridges.
- Check that the spawn is clear and that a vehicle rests on the road or ground.
- Drive over bridges and under crossings. Look for abrupt approaches, blocked lanes and misplaced supports.
- Inspect building foundations, fence joins, water banks and the playable-area edge.
- Move close to grass and flowers, then compare nearby and distant scenery.
- Switch to nighttime to check lamp spacing and coverage.
- Spawn AI traffic and parked cars using the game controls. Test fuel and charging bays with compatible vehicles.
Correct and export again
If an object is misplaced, fix its position, rotation or scale in the Editor. If a road is rough, correct its terrain or profile. For blocked traffic, inspect lane directions, junction connections and nearby scenery.
For low performance, reduce dense vegetation, unnecessary scenery or the map area, and compare the game’s graphics settings. Complete changes in MapToPlay, wait for saving, then download a new export and repeat the installation step.
